Self-Initiated Development

Leaders need to constantly grow and learn to keep up with our ever changing world and to keep their organization growing.

There are three keys to effective leadership development:

  1. Knowing what skills and behaviors you need to develop
  2. Having a proven path to follow for your development
  3. Awareness and motivation to increase your leadership effectiveness

Many leadership development activities, while probably valuable, can fail to address a leader’s most relevant development needs.  By knowing the most crucial leadership skills needing improvement you can focus your development activities and save much time and frustration (and likely money) along the way.  In working with leaders and managers from various industries we have found that the most successful leaders excel in common leadership skills and behaviors.  From this experience we’ve developed a leadership competency model (The 4P’s Leadership Competency Model) that leaders can measure, continue to refine and improve, and help others grow within their organizations.

Likewise, by following a comprehensive, yet simple development path you will know each step to take in all your development activities and will more likely be successful in your leadership development efforts as well as notice an increase in your leadership skills and your overall results.   Learn more about The SID Model for leadership development.

The third and most important aspect to effective leadership development is being aware of the need to develop your leadership skills.  Yes, you may already be doing great in your current leadership position, but where are your blind spots?  How can you better help others in their professional development?  And finally, are you still growing in your leadership ability and are you willing to take actions to continuously improve?

The SID Way to leadership development provides the tools to plan, guide, and improve those leadership areas that are crucial to your leadership and management success.  Make the decision to advance your leadership development!
